The Health Benefits of Hemp Protein

Certified organic hemp protein is vegan, gluten free, kosher, and non-genetically modified. It contains no sugar, no saturated fatty acids, no trans fat, no cholesterol, and no THC. Happy Hemp Protein Bars

  • 1-2 Tbsp  Hemp powder
  • 5 Dates
  • 4-5 Ripe banana’s
  • 1/2 cup Shredded Coconut
  • 1/2 cup Flaxseed powder
  • 1/2 cup Sunflower seeds or any seeds you like
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • Pinch of Himalayan rock salt
  • 1 Tbsp Coconut oil
  • 1 tsp Vanilla essence


Honey (if you need it but I think this is pretty sweet with the dates), Chia seeds, Dried figs, Pumpkin seeds or any seeds you like, Cacao nibs, Figs (fresh or dried), Apricot kernels and Nutmeg (or other spices you like).


I used my dehydrator to make these, you can also put them in a tray in the freezer to set depending on what texture you want your bars (chewy or soft). Mix all the wet ingredients together (mashed banana, melted coconut oil and vanilla essence). In a separate bowl mix all the dry ingredients (hemp protein powder, shredded coconut, flaxseed powder, sunflower seeds, cinnamon and rock salt). Then chop up the dates (whatever dried fruit you are using) mix into the dry ingredients and add in the wet ingredients. It should have a semi sticky consistency (like a dry cookie dough), which you can then add to a tray and dehydrate/freeze. If using a dehydrator I put it on a low heat overnight in a freezer leave to set for an hour or longer.

You can add whatever you want to this really the combinations are endless and you’ll soon find a combination that suits your taste buds. If using a dehydrator and the mixture seems too dry and isn’t sticking together just add a bit of water until you get the consistency you want. For this recipe I used Good Hemp Nutrition protein powder, which is 100% natural, grown in the UK and cold-pressed, preserving the hemp seed goodness. These bars can be kept in an air tight container for a week and in the fridge for up to two weeks (you can also freezer them if you want to keep them for longer). So get high off protein, life and energise yourself with a happy hemp bar.


  1. These look great. I often eat mainstream protein bars, but I’m concerned they contain too much sugar. I’ll give these a try and hopefully they’ll become a regular feature as a post workout snack. I don’t have a dehydrator but hopefully the results will be good!

      1. To let you know, i did get around to making these protein bars! They taste great. Perfect for after a workout. Much healthier than over-priced mainstream protein bars. Bravo!

        I can imagine that a dehydrator would have held them together better, but using my freezer was fine for me. Thanks!

        1. Glad you liked them and thanks for the feedback and yes less sugar, preservatives and artificial additives so better for you. Since getting my dehydrator I keep finding new uses for it, so really worth getting and not too expensive. I’ll be posting my ultimate chocolate shake which I have after my workouts, so amazingly good.

Hi Lucinda thanks for your comment, sorry my site is going through a bit of an update as I’ve seemed to of lost all my bullet points and bits, I made these this weekend for the week ahead and have added the quantities. I you might like more or less of things depending on your pallet and consistency of the bars. I do find using a dehydrator works best, esp if I’ve made it a bit too runny, let me know how you get on.
